applehead:ボーカル:mayutan／エレキギター:fredy／エレキドラム:candyの3人組。ピンクの着ぐるみ姿で歌うmayutanと、テクノ・ニューウェーブ世代の男性陣による、80年代と21世紀をまたにかけたエレクトロ・ファー・ポップ（Electro-fur pop）バンド。幼児のようなmayutanの歌声、エフェクティブなギター、スタンディングのエレクトリックドラム。一見イロモノ的に思えるそれらの要素は、ポップミュージックを独自の方法論で昇華させたアレンジに支えられ、メロウな音楽スタイルを確立している。

またカラフルなステージングが特徴的で、毛糸の編み目のようなドット映像、MANGA的なキャラクターアイコン、空気バルーンのどうぶつやギター、チカチカした電飾やネオン管が溢れるステージは、ドリーミーでファンタスティック！　「観ている人がしあわせなきもちになれるようなライブをやりたい」とmayutanが言う通り、彼女の振り付けに合わせて踊る観客たちと共に作るライブ空間は、ハッピーなムードに包まれている。

存在すべてがTokyo的なこのバンドは、今や世界規模で認知されつつある。

Electro-fur pop from Tokyo!

Applehead is a three member band: Mayutan, lead singer; Fredy, electric guitar; and Candy, electric drums. This electro-fur pop band covers both the 80’s and 21st century styles. The band includes Mayutan who sings in a pink-stuffed animal suit and two male musicians from the techno new-wave music generation. It features Mayutan’s child-like singing voice, effective guitar, and standing electric drums. These features may be considered eccentric, but they help establish a mellow music style with their original arrangements of pop music in their own methodology.

Their distinctive colorful stage presentation features wool knit-like dot images, MANGA-style character icons, air balloon animals and guitars, and flickering and neon lights, making their show dreamy and fantastic!

As Mayutan says, “I want our live performance to make the audiences feel happy". Their live shows always provide a happy atmosphere as her audiences dance along with her.

The band, with its complete Tokyo-style, is getting international recognition.
